The specialization in sport-based youth development utilizes innovative teaching, coaching and administrative approaches to prepare you for working with young people outside of the traditional physical education and interscholastic/intercollegiate sport settings. The specialization is intended as an alternative program to teacher education, as well as an extension for coaches, recreation leaders, teachers, administrators, youth development workers and others who have an interest in the holistic development of youth through sport and physical activity.
Students may obtain the specialization in Sport-Based Youth Development while pursuing either of the degrees below at Adelphi’s Manhattan Center beginning in Fall 2015.
